Info session: Guatemala Healthcare, Culture and Language

Join VCU Education Abroad for an information session on the 2012 Guatemala Healthcare, Culture and Spanish Language summer study abroad program!
The program is a 4-week opportunity for students interested in international healthcare, Spanish language and Guatemalan culture. Students will be enrolled in a 3-credit Spanish language course as well as a secondary course in healthcare and Mayan culture. This healthcare program offers students a service-learning opportunity and is designed for pre-medical, pre-dental and pre-nursing students and health providers.

Fulbright Fellowship Information Session

Are you interested in gaining experience abroad? The National Scholarship Office invites anyone who is interested in teaching English or doing research internationally to attend a Fulbright Information Session presented by Mr. Lee Rivers of the Institute of International Education and Mr. Jeff Wing, Director, National Scholarship Office, on Monday, January 30, at 1pm in Room 1303 at The Honors College (701 W. Grace Street). Fulbright Student Scholarships provide full funding for one academic year. This information session is open to all graduate and undergraduate students as well as faculty and alumni.

Santa Reparata School of Art info table on Friday, October 28 from 11-12:30

Enrica Guidato from Santa Reparata International School of Art (SRISA) in Florence, Italy, will be staffing an informational table in the VCU School of the Arts building located at 1000 W. Broad Street on Friday, October 28 from 11-12:30 for students who are interested in studying abroad for a semester or summer. Volcano Pacaya- update for VCU programs in Guatemala

According to various news sources, a volcano in Guatemala began erupting yesterday.
Seven students and one faculty member are currently in Antigua on VCU’s Anthropology study abroad program and are all safe and accounted for.
Students on the Spanish language program who are traveling to Guatemala tomorrow (Saturday, May 29, 2010) may be delayed or re-routed and are encouraged to contact their airlines to determine what time/location they will be arriving so that this information can be communicated to the program director who is currently in Guatemala.

Peru Exhibition

The 2009 participants from VCU’s Summer Study Abroad program in Peru will exhibit their art during the month of March. The program was led by VCU Painting and Printmaking professor, Javier Tapia. The group traveled through Lima, Cuzco, and the Sacred Valley as well as other sites along the coast of Peru for a month last summer. This visual exploration inspired artwork including photographs, paintings and more.
