About Us

The Community Health Education Center (CHEC) is a partnership of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS), VCU Libraries, and the MCV Hospitals Auxiliary. This consumer health library provides patients, their family members, and the members of the greater Richmond community access to authoritative and accurate health information.

CHEC’s mission is to foster the advancement and development of health knowledge within the community.

Opened in 2002, CHEC marked 10 years of service in 2012.

Special events included an open house held in April and an open-to-the public speaker event in October.
