Nov. 22: Mindfulness Meditation

The Community Health Education Center, located on the ground floor of the VCU Medical Center Gateway Building, hosts 30 minute mindfulness meditation sessions Wednesday, November 22 at noon and 12:30 pm. Nov. 14: Fuel Your Mind and Body

The Community Health Education Center hosts “Fuel Your Mind and Body” on Tuesday, November 14 at noon, presented by Carrie Baines, Wellness Coordinator, VCU Recreational Sports.  Come learn more about how mindfulness affects your workout and tips on how to build a stronger mind and body.  Space is limited and registration is required.  For more information or to register, call 828-2432 or email seamick@vcu.edu.  The Community Health Education Center is located on the ground floor of the VCU Medical Center Gateway Building.

Nov. 9: Arts in Healthcare

Please join us in the Community Health Education Center on Thursday, November 9 at noon to learn about how the arts can have a positive impact on health.  This program will be presented by members of the VCU Health Arts in Healthcare team.

P. Muzi Branch, Arts in Healthcare Director; Mollie Luck, Music Therapist; and Georgianne Ginder, Health and Wellness Counselor will present information about their department and how they serve the hospital and patients.  They will discuss therapy services, wall art policies, and programs.

Light refreshments provided.  Space is limited and registration is required.

Nov. 7: Holiday Stress and Dogs on Call

Please join us in the Community Health Education Center on Tuesday, November 7 at noon for this stress relief program presented by Dr. Sandra Barker.  Dr. Barker is Director of the VCU Center for Human-Animal Interaction and a Professor in the VCU Department of Psychiatry.  She will present practical tips to minimize the stress that accompanies the holidays.  Therapy dogs from the VCU Dogs on Call program will be joining her for this presentation!
