Information Interview Program, Finally up and Running

Remember when I sent this out in September?
“Informational Interviews (want to talk to someone who does what you want to do?)
Everyone,
I am looking for any business students (undergraduate or graduate), or alumni interested in conducting an informational interview. For this interview, YOU ASK THE QUESTIONS. What I would like to do is help pair you with a professional that works in the field of interest that may interest you! My goal would be to help you set up a 30 minute interview (either on the phone or in person) where you can ask him/her questions about their field. Here is an example: Finance majors, wouldn’t you like to talk to a Financial Analyst?
Marketing majors: A Brand Manager?
Human Resources: A Compensation/Benefits Manager?
Business Manager: A CEO
I think you get the picture.
If you think you might be interested, send me a resume and the some titles of interest. Now, if you are an Econ major that also wants to talk to a Financial Analyst and an Economist, that is fine. I think that all business majors should be a bit broad when exploring.”
Ok, Now we are moving forward with the program. If you think you might be interested,
complete the information below and we will begin working on matching you with an employer in your field of interest. Pay attention to the very last question because there is also another program being developed to offer a shadowing opportunity on site for a day or two over the holidays.
Have questions, Contact me!!
Darlene
Necessary Information for the programs:
Your major and graduation date:
Areas of interest or specific job titles you are interested in:
Your email and telephone contact information:
Do you want to have this interview on-site with the employer or over the telephone?
***If you indicate you would like to meet with the employer on site, please make sure you have viable transportation.
Are you also available some time over the winter break to conduct the interview?
Would you also be interested in an opportunity to shadow a professional for a day or two over the winter break time frame?
**If yes, indicate if you are able to shadow here in Richmond or if you have other areas in Virginia that might be possible.
