SOFT Student Enrichment Program

In September, hundreds of forensic toxicologists from around the world will be in Boca Raton, Florida to attend the 2017 Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT) conference (September 9 – 14).  As part of the conference, we are inviting undergraduate and graduate students interested in forensic toxicology to take part in a one-day educational outreach program.  At this Student Enrichment Program (SEP), participants will engage with practicing forensic toxicologists and learn what this exciting discipline has to offer.   We respectfully request that you share the attached information about this program with anyone who may be interested.  Also, please send this information to any colleagues that may know of students interested in this type of program.

The SEP will take place Monday, September 11th, 2017 from 8am until 5pm at the Boca Raton Resort and Club.  The program, including continental breakfast and lunch, are provided to accepted applicants at no cost; however, students are responsible for their own transportation and lodging, if needed.  Space is limited, so participants will be selected through an application process.  Applications are due by August 18, 2017.

In addition, the 2017 SOFT conference planning committee is looking for volunteers to assist during the week of the conference.  Students would have access to the scientific sessions and poster presentations as well as the opportunity to develop contacts with toxicologists active in the field.  If you have students that would be interested in volunteering, they can contact Tate Yeatman or Joe Kahl at volunteers@soft-tox.org  for more information.

More information regarding the SEP and the 2017 SOFT Conference can be found at our website http://www.soft-tox.orgunder the Young Forensic Toxicologists link under the Features tab.
