The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is offering a series of free online presentations covering “Pathways Programs/Writing Your Federal Resume” for students interested in federal internships or post-graduation employment. Attendees will be shown a real federal government job posting and walked through a process that helps them review the posting to determine their qualifications, identify the important requirements, and then tailor their resumes to that posting. The National Scholarship Office is hosting an information session for all VCU students to learn about national scholarships and opportunities to study, learn a language, research, or teach English abroad – fully funded! All VCU students — graduate and undergraduate — are invited, but first and second year students are especially encouraged to attend. Wednesday, March 30 at 2:00pm (Honors College Multipurpose Room 1303).
The Virginia Power Dialog is an open forum that aims to bring students attending Virginia universities together with administrators from the EPA and VA Department of Environmental Quality to discuss what Clean Power Plan means for Virginia. Participating schools include University of Richmond, University of Virginia, James Madison University, and Virginia Tech.
The Power Dialog will be held on April 8, 2016 in the VCU Student Commons Theater from 9 am to 12 pm. Click here for full information about this event.

Chi Sigma Iota, the Counselor Education international honor society, is bringing an Out of the Darkness Walk, a suicide awareness and prevention walk to VCU’s campus. We would love for you to join us and others on Saturday, April 2nd from 10:00AM-11:00AM for a short walk around the Monroe Park Campus beginning and ending at The Compass behind Cabell Library. Registration begins at 9:00AM. Join us and Active Minds at VCU to raise awareness of suicide prevention and help end suicide in our own VCU community!
