New Spring 2017 module: Contemporary Conversations

You can still register for this Honors module! Contemporary Conversations, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 28-April 27. Don’t delay – register by March 28.

A new course module is being offered for spring 2017: Contemporary Conversations, taught by instructor, actor & director Addie Barnhart.

The HONORS 399/CRN 35400 module will meet from March 28-April 27 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:45 a.m. in Honors Multipurpose Room 1303.
Contemporary Conversations is designed around classic and modern scripts that engage in issues relevant to current social issues and themes. Using the plays as a starting point to discover insight on the creative journey, this module focuses on how textual elements influence theatrical practices and conversations.

Come out this Thursday, April 21st at 8pm and play some trivia with the Honors Community Council! Come with or without a team, just be prepared to have some fun! There will be food and prizes. Also, brush up on your Eco facts just in time for Earth Day!

Block Party – Help Needed!

Please be sure to read Ms. Homer’s most recent Graduation Update email from April 15, which includes important information on invitations and instructions on how to RSVP and request extra tickets.  Important highlights include:  If you’re participating in the honors ceremony, Deadline to complete the graduates’ information form was April 15th but we’ll accept them through TODAY; Deadline to RSVP to Senior Breakfast: April 27; Deadline to RSVP to graduation: April 29th.

Professional Development Workshop

Professor Boyes will be conducting a professional development workshop for Honors Rhetoric students on Friday, March 18th at 9AM, 11AM, and 1PM in the Honors College multi-purpose room, Room 1303. This workshop is also open to all honors students, space permitting.

Honors Town Hall Meeting: Diversity and Inclusiveness in The Honors College

Universities are paying more and more attention to issues of diversity and inclusion. Dean Falk will lead a discussion with students and staff on existing issues and plans regarding diversity and inclusiveness in The Honors College. This Honors Town Hall meeting is designed to be interactive so students should come prepared with questions and be ready to engage in a discussion. The event will take place on Friday, March 25th from 3-4pm in the Honors College multipurpose room, Room 1303.
