The CLS program is part of the National Security Language Initiative (NSLI), a U.S. government interagency effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critical need foreign languages.
CLS provides full summer (eight to ten weeks) funding for beginning, intermediate and/or advanced study of Arabic, Persian, Azerbaijani, Bangla/Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Turkish, Urdu, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. All CLS programs are held in countries where the language is spoken and many involve home stays in addition to intensive classroom instruction. Carolyn Morris, a graduate student in the Wilder School who studied Azerbaijani in Baku, Azerbaijan this past summer, will also be available to answer questions and discuss her experience with CLS.

Interested candidates should review the fbi.gov/college website and submit a resume through RamsRecruiting. You do not select a position from the website prior to submitting your resume to RamsRecruiting. This resume shows that you are a general candidate for multiple positions. Some candidates will then have an initial interview at VCU. Second-round interviews for some candidates will be scheduled in D.C. at a later date. DO NOT APPLY THROUGH: www. fbi.gov/college.
