Grow Food in a VCU Community Garden Plot
Green Unity, Monroe Park and MCV-C SGAs, and Facilities Management, sponsors a community garden open to all students, faculty and staff from both campuses. Plots may also be available to Richmond community members if space permits. Participants harvest their own food or help in volunteer plots to provide donations to food banks. The garden is next to Larrick Student Center. Help us break ground on VCU’s first ever community garden! We’ll be building raised beds, as well as special beds (hugelkultur and wicking beds) that save water. We’ll also get the beds prepped for planting with soil and compost.
VCU Community Garden Work Day – Pollinator and Volunteer Planting
10am-4pm, Saturday, April 7th

You’re welcome to stay for part or all of the day. Those that stay the whole day will get a free lunch. After the beds have been raised, get down with some genetic exchange! Help us attract the bees and their flying friends to our garden, and get our volunteer gardens started. 10am-4pm for both Saturday and Sunday. VCU Community Garden Grand Opening and Strawberry Festival

Bring Your Appetite to the VCU Community Garden Strawberry Festival:
Green Unity for VCU and MCV-C SGA Green Affairs is hosting our first ever Strawberry Festival at the Grand Opening of the VCU Community Garden on Tuesday, April 24th from 1-4 PM, located next to Larrick Center on MCV Campus. Get a free tomato plant, garden-related give-aways, build your own self-watering planter, sample strawberry treats, and learn about the garden features at interactive educational displays.
