In response to overwhelming demand, WordPress became the centrally supported blogging platform for VCU students, faculty and staff in the summer of 2011. WordPress is a well-known, open-source blogging system popular for its flexible themes and easy-to-use dashboard. Users of Movable Type, the university’s previously supported blogging platform, were encouraged to move their blogs to WordPress before Movable Type was turned off at the end of 2012.
If you did not move your blog before then and you would like a copy of your archived blog contents, please contact the VCU Webmaster to get a copy of the export file from your Movable Type blog. You can then import your blog content into a new WordPress blog following the instructions from the Technology Services website at http://ts.vcu.edu/askit/blog/5276.html.
