April 11 – Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula Parkinson’s Awareness Day
Join the Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula PD support group at their annual Parkinson’s Awareness Day at 1pm on April 11, at Rappahannock Westminster Canterbury.  Dr. Jeff Hoder will present “The Magic Pill for Parkinson’s.” Call Rita DePew for more information, (804) 435-9553.

April 12 – Social Security Income / Supplemental Security Disability Income Seminar
Join VCU for a workshop reviewing the process and requirements to apply for SSI/SSDI benefits, and what to do if you are denied.  Learn more.

April 14 – Parkinson’s Disease Walk-a-Thon at Virginia Beach
Walk along the Virginia Beach boardwalk and raise funds for Parkinson’s research.  Walk is presented by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association.  Learn more.

April 19 – Shakin’ Not Stirred
Paying homage to the debonair James Bond, Richmond’s favorite bartenders will create their own versions of Agent 007’s classic beverage. Guests and celebrity judges will taste and decide who shakes and stirs the best!  All proceeds will benefit the VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center.  Learn more.

Dr. James Bennett will discuss the current treatment options and latest research findings for Parkinson’s Disease. Learn more.

April 26 – Who was James Parkinson?
