Mindfulness -based group therapy sessions forming

Our research trial of mindfulness-based therapy in individuals with Parkinson’s disease was a great success, and we’ve decided to launch a new clinical program at our center to continue to offer mindfulness-based group therapy.

Dr. Lageman will lead an 8-week program.  The program is open to patients of the VCU Medical Center.

The group will meet weekly, from August 12 – September 30, at the VCU PMDC in our group room.  Sessions will run from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM.

Participants should make all efforts to attend all 8 sessions, as session content will build upon each prior session. A minimum of 10 participants are required to schedule the sessions, and the group size is limited to a maximum of 14.

Participants will be financially responsible for the cost of the sessions and the VCU PMDC will bill participants’ insurance companies for services.  Any pre-authorizations required by insurance companies must be completed prior to participation in the group.

Individuals who participated in our past research trial of mindfulness ARE eligible for this group.

If you are interested in attending the group or have questions, please email Dr. Lageman at sklageman@vcu.edu.

Please include in your email your full name, telephone contact information, and medical diagnosis.
Thank you for your continued support of our center and programs.
