relationships, partnering with other human service agencies, identifying and
addressing programming needs and managing the large number of volunteers to
execute the highest quality programming for gay, lesbian, bisexual,
transgender and questioning youth.

PART TIME Intern; The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is recruiting for a Student Intern in the Public Affairs/Economic Education Division. In this role, the intern assists staff in delivering the Economic Education program of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Learns from seasoned economic educators and is exposed to business professionals throughout the Fifth District of the Federal Reserve System. The internship is structured to refine a diverse set of skills including analytical thinking, effective interviewing, strong communication (written and oral), team interaction, and business protocol. The intern would be called on to perform routine, non-routine, and miscellaneous duties as assigned. This is a part time fall position that will begin as early as September 2008 and may end in December 2008. The work schedule for the position will average 12 hours each week; however, flexiblity to alter work schedule, as needed, is desired.

Required : Must be currently enrolled college student, preferably rising junior or senior status. The ideal candidate is an education major with some background in economics.

Organizational ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, ease in a classroom setting, creativity, ability to edit materials, interpersonal skills, and Web knowledge.

FULL TIME FIELD ORGANIZER, Planned Parenthood Health Systems, Inc Charlottesville, VA

Planned Parenthood Health Systems, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, responsible, outgoing, creative, pro-choice person with political experience to manage the agency’s grassroots activities in Charlottesville and surrounding areas in VA and Southern WV. The Field Organizer will work closely with the Director of Public Policy to conduct grassroots activities while building capacity and infrastructure. The Organizer will also provide key support to the Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, particularly around volunteer activities in targeted political candidate and issue-based campaigns.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with the Director of Public Policy to implement a field organizing program designed to increase the number of pro-choice, pro-family planning activists in targeted region.
Responsibilities:
• With the Director of Public Policy, develop and implement plans for statewide grassroots organizing, including the formation of local core activist groups and a volunteer leadership program
• Manage activist database
•Work with coalition partners to achieve pro-choice gains
•Develop and maintain pro-choice student organizations at local colleges/universities
• Voter education and engagement – including training, candidate campaigns and phonebanks
• Manage all aspects of community outreach, including some materials development, volunteer recruitment, training and execution of all civic engagement activities
• Organize community events
• Recruit and supervise interns
• Perform administrative duties
• Some fundraising, public speaking and media relations

FULL TIME Sponsorship/Sub Associate; Children, Incorporated

Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for creating biographical descriptions for each child on the Children, Incorporated program. Secondary responsibilities will include providing assistance in set up, processing and documentation required to establish child sponsorships in the areas of new, substitute, gift, pending and transfer sponsorships. Additionally the Sponsor/Sub Associate assumes the responsibilities of a primary customer relations phone operator.
Functions:
I. Creates descriptive biographical histories for each child waiting for a sponsor. Coordinates the completion of specific histories based on the daily needs of the department.
II. Provides ongoing support and backup in all areas of set up, processing, documentation and follow up necessary to complete new, substitute, gift, pending or transfer of sponsorships.
III. Participates as a primary customer relations phone operator, responding immediately to low level questions and inquiries and directing callers to appropriate personnel when requested or necessary to provide exceptional customer service.
IV. General clerical duties to assist in other departments as duties allow or priorities demand.

FULL TIME Volunteer Coordinator; Henrico CASA

Required Qualifications include:
