The Disability Determination Services Division has Disability Determination Analyst Trainee positions available in the Roanoke Regional Office. Training will be provided in a classroom setting, on-line and on the job. These positions are responsible for adjudicating an assigned caseload of claims for disability benefits filed by citizens of Virginia under the Social Security Act, as amended. This requires securing and objectively evaluating medical, vocational, and other relevant information, and rendering accurate and timely decisions according to applicable federal regulations. Competency based advancement ensures compensation for increasing your skills.
Experience/ability in gathering, reviewing and analyzing large volumes of data to arrive at well supported decisions or conclusions following established policies and procedures. Ability to organize a workload, multi-task and meet multiple established deadlines. Ability to adapt positively to frequent changes in all areas of work. A demonstrated ability to prepare written analyses that support sound decision making for persons of all educational and socio-economic backgrounds. Writing samples will be completed at the interview. Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively use a word processing personal computer application. Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent applicable experience or training. Experience in claims adjudication and medical knowledge or interest a plus. Qualified candidate must be able to commit to intensive skills training provided during the first 120 days of employment. Successful candidate will be fingerprinted and must pass criminal background check.
Pay Band 4 – Salary Range: $32,013 to $43,053***Comprehensive State benefits package included. ***For applicants hired with DDS claims adjudication experience, salary is negotiable within the pay band 4 salary range of $32,013 to $64,347 based on experience and qualifications.

Who is Strategic?
Home-based Therapist – wanted to provide individual, couples and
family therapy to clients in their homes using a change oriented
approach. This position requires a master’s degree, one year clinical
experience, and desire to learn and apply strategic therapy. Positions
available in Lynchburg and Danville areas.
Companions – wanted to work with at-risk youth on a part time basis in
a therapeutic day treatment settings including in and after school
programs and summer day camps to keep children positively directed,

The YWCA of Richmond is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive advocacy and clinical services to men, women and children experiencing domestic and sexual violence.
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Children’s Services Specialist
This position serves as the primary counselor and case manager for the children residing in our residential program. This position is responsible for assessing and counseling children, creating service plans and mediating parent-child conflicts, as well as facilitating
groups and providing the appropriate reports and documentation. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology and a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a therapeutic setting.
Evening, overnight, and weekend part-time shifts available. Set days and times available, as well as flexible (as needed) positions to work in a creative and therapeutic residential program for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Each position will work with the clinical team and report directly to the Residential Supervisor.
We will consider all candidates. However, you must possess a driver’s license, pass a drug and criminal background check, posses good computer skills and excellent listening and communication skills. Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in human services, at-least two years experience working with individuals or families in crisis and be fluent in Spanish. The hourly pay rate is based on education and experience.
