VIRGINIA SUPPORTIVE HOUSING – POSITION: PROGRAM ASSISTANT – A PLACE TO START

General Statement of Duties:  The Program Assistant coordinates and monitors all nonclinical operations of the APTS team under the supervision of the team leader.  The APTS clinical team is licensed as an ICT team and provides services to individuals with a history of chronic homelessness who have been diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness.  The APTS Program Assistant reports directly to the APTS Team Leader.   The Program Assistant also provides limited administrative assistance to VSH as a whole under the supervision of the Deputy Executive Director.

Qualifications:
*         High School diploma and three years of customer service experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
 *   Experience with office management procedures required.
 *   Knowledge of the Intensive/Assertive Community Treatment Model preferred.
 *   Good computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
 *   Ability to interact in a professional manner with program participants, VSH peers, and collateral agencies required.
 *   Ability to function as part of a team program and ability to multi-task required.
 *   Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail required.
 *   Valid driver’s license and ability to meet VSH driving requirements is required.
 *   Experience with homeless persons, person experiencing a severe and persistent mental illness, the homeless service system, and/or the mental health system is strongly preferred.

on program outcomes for Summer Program Operations Manager

4.  Serve
as liaison to Work Site Supervisors for Summer Youth Interns

5.  Other
duties as assigned

Educational Requirements and
Experience:

motivated and a commitment to excellence

field preferred
5.  Experience teaching and mentoring youth
6.  Excellent

Driving
Responsibilities:
Must have own transportation for weekly visits to
job sites; a valid driver’s license; mileage provided.

Unpaid interns wanted for Repower Virginia campaign

Repower Virginia is seeking interns during our “40th Anniversary of Earth Day” campaign.  This is an opportunity to gain valuable organizing skills working with a non-partisan, non-profit on the front lines of the movement for clean energy and climate solutions in America.  Intern responsibilities may include organizing events, promoting clean energy and climate solutions at community events, collecting video testimonials, mobilizing members to visit the district offices of elected officials, and office tasks such as data entry.
 
The internship begins as soon as this week (March 22-26) and will last through April 22.  The commitment requires a time investment of 6-12 hours/week.  Interns that excel will have the opportunity to continue with Repower America after the Earth Day campaign.  The internship is unpaid but is a great resume builder and fulfills community service requirements.  Interns must provide their own transportation to the Repower VA office at 2010 W Main St, Richmond.

Summer Marketing/Sales Reps – Paid Housing

This is a full-time summer position with career opportunities for the right people. Reps will be responsible for marketing the services of a local trash and recycling company in areas where the customers have the right to choose their hauler. Applicants should be outgoing, posses good communication skills, strong work effort, be aggressive, and interested gaining excellent work experience.

Your typical day would be Mon-Fri 1-8p and Sat 10a-4p. The day would start out with a meeting at the office where we will train, turn in sales, and go over any direction from the client. From there you would go out to your assigned area and proceed to contact potential customers. You will be offering a better rate and free months of service. Some areas we will be marketing a totally new idea, rewards based recycling. Pay is based on your sales, but we do offer a modest base to get you started. Reps will average 5-6 sales per day and make $750-1000 per week.

When you are not working you will be able to relax in style. Your housing will be paid for the summer. We put you up in furnished luxury apartments. Typically there will be pools, a gym, be close to shopping and nightlife.
