grantsearch, workshops

The Office of Research and Innovation will continue offering both group and individual grant search training using Pivot. Pivot can be used to search for research-related grants from government agencies, private foundations, and other organizations.

Group Training Sessions

Attendees will establish a Pivot account, and run through a live demonstration of the funding database’s features including custom searches and email alerts. We will also discuss search strategies applicable to this and other funding search resources and review the individuals and offices at VCU that can assist in locating grant opportunities. Each workshop will focus on a funding and search strategies in a particular discipline. Target audience: These sessions are designed primarily for research faculty who are new to the grant seeking process, are new to VCU, or are interested in exploring testing a new tool for finding funding. Postdocs and research staff are also strongly encouraged to attend.

All workshops (except Biomedical Sciences) will take place in the Technology Administration Building, room 108.

Individual, Guided Grant Searches

The Office of Research and Innovation offers individualized, guided grant searches of Federal and private sources every month on both campuses. These sessions are available to VCU faculty and staff (only) to assist in locating funding opportunities and developing a grant search strategy for their research areas. Submit a Grant Search Training Request form to schedule an appointment.

Go to the Find Funding section of the Office of Research and Innovation website to access databases and information.
