VCU’s newly-created Office of Public Policy Outreach (OPPO) is offering two events of interest to investigators. Both sessions will be held at the Virginia Capitol Building, Senate Room 1.

Policy in Action: A Behind the Scenes Look (download flyer)
Monday, October 19, 2015, 9:00-11:00 a.m. 

Join your colleagues for an in-depth look at the legislative process and public policy in Virginia. Presentations will be made by Legislative Services on the inner-workings of the legislative process in Virginia. Representatives from both the House of Delegates and the Senate staff will highlight the impact VCU faculty might have on public policy in Virginia. This is a great networking and research relationship building opportunity for all faculty. Optional tours of the Capitol and Executive Mansion are available.

Research Brief Writing Workshop for VCU Faculty (download flyer)
Thursday, October 22, 2015, 10:00 a.m. 

Learn how to turn your research into policy briefs to present to policymakers at the Research Brief Writing Workshop for VCU Faculty. Felix Sarfo-Kantanka, Deputy Secretary of Administration and former legislative director for Gov. Terry McAuliffe, will be the featured speaker.
