The following are tools and apps assignments as well as contributions from students in previous semesters.
Spring 2012:
Before getting started with the class, every student needs to sign up for accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Google (YouTube, G-mail, Docs), Skype, Diigo and LinkedIn. Existing accounts on these platforms can be used for this class. You will be asked to fill in your account links and usernames in a Google Doc. Join our Facebook group and follow our Twitter feed (@ipadjournos). We are using the hashtag #ipadjournos on Twitter.
Also download the following apps on your iPad (check under the Hastech icon): Kindle, Amazon, PDF Reader, SoundNote, iMovie, and Google Apps Browser by G-Whizz! Don’t pay for any of them. They have been pre-paid for you.
In a second step, please download the following free apps: VCU e-mail, VCU Mobile, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Prezi, PS Express, SoundCloud, CBS 6, Mix RVA, NBC 12.
During the semester, names of additional useful iPad apps (search for them in the App Store on your iPad) as well as useful tools and social media platforms will be posted here .
