Michael Sam’s “Authentic” ESPY Speech

Authentic is one of the CSL’s core values. We are always on the lookout for examples in sport. One occured last night as Michael Sam accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs. Sam is the first openly gay player in the NFL. The St. Louis Rams linebacker came out shortly after his finishing his college career at Missouri. In an emotional speech last night, he talked about the path he’s traveled and the journey still ahead.

The Ultimate Hat Tip

For several months, we’ve been providing alumni updates with a post called “Hat Tip Tuesday”. The “hat tip” has long been symbol of admiration, a recognition of accomplishment and a sign of respect.

You can imagine how stunned we were when Nike’s Jordan Brand unveiled their All Star Game tribute to Derek Jeter centered around the player’s signature move.

The commercial, created to commemorate Jeter’s final All Star Game appearance, is entitied “Re2pect”.
