Sales & Development Class Visits UR
The Richmond Spiders may be VCU’s rival in Atlantic 10 competition but for the Center for Sport Leadership, UR’s Athletic Department is part of our team of valuable partners. Each year, several of our graduate students gain valuable experience working with Spider Athletics in a variety of departments.
Today, students in our Sales and Development class made a trip across town to hear from two talented members of the UR Athletic Department. Carolyn Center is the General Manager of Spider IMG Sports Marketing. Jasmonn Coleman is the Assistant AD for Development.
Center, who is adjunct professor for the CSL, handles the bulk of corporate sponsorships for UR Athletics. She went into detail about the inventory they offer to clients and how they find the right fit of assets for each prospect.
Coleman, a former UR football player, discussed the process of finding new donors and the importance of development relationships with alumni and other stakeholders.
During our visit to UR, we caught up with two CSL alums that for the Spiders: Courtney Hughes is the Associate Director of Academics/Life Skills Coordinator. Chaz Coleman is the Director of Football Operations.
