The FBI will be shutting down several malware DNS servers next Monday, July 9, 2012 that were used to provide safe DNS services for people who have computers infected with DNSChanger malware. For all people who are infected with the DNSChanger malware, their Internet connection will be disrupted until they remove the malware from their computer and change their DNS settings. Google and Facebook are ramping up their efforts to warn affected users. While this malware does not appear to affect any computers used by faculty and staff on the VCU network, it may still affect the home computers of VCU community members. To check for the malware, go to Google, Facebook or www.dns-ok.us to verify that your computer is not infected. The infected computer users should visit the DNSChanger working group’s website at http://www.dcwg.org/fix/
