Many in the VCU community have received email messages containing an invitation to a new social network under the name of College Collaborative Networks. Many schools have been receiving these messages over the summer months. The general consensus seems to be, at the very least, the spam tactics employed is annoying and does not follow business best practices. At this time, we are advising VCU faculty, staff and students to ignore the invitation and delete the email. We have already blocked the link included in the messages from inside the VCU network based on intelligence we received earlier this week from other higher education institutions. Please contact the VCU helpIT Center (828-2227, helpIT@vcu.edu) with any questions.
