Google retiring support for older versions of the Google Drive plug-in for Microsoft Office
Google has identified user accounts in our domain using versions 18.104.22.168 or older of the Google Drive plug-in for Microsoft Office client. The Google Drive plug-in authentication flow has been updated to address Google’s efforts to modernize OAuth interactions in native apps for better usability and security. It’s critical that users upgrade to the latest version 22.214.171.124 before April 20, 2017. After April 20, 2017 the sign-in process on older clients will fail. Google has begun rolling out the automatic updates to all clients. If you have disabled Google Update or installed the Google Drive plug-in in an environment that does not allow automatic updates, download and deploy the latest Google Drive plug-in version (126.96.36.199).
