Want to keep up with VCU’s various athletic teams? Then you should definitely check out the official site for VCU’s Athletics for information about teams, scores, schedules and much more. You might also like Around the Horns, a blog which highlights VCU Athletics news and notes. If you’re a fan of the Rams, then you’ll be a fan of these sites – and if nothing else, you’ll want to see which celebrity is rocking the black and gold!

Our spring Open House was held on Saturday, Feb. 5th and was a great success. Thank you to those who were able to attend! Whether you toured the campus, met with an admissions counselor, received information from the various offices on campus, or had the opportunity to speak with a faculty member, we hope that you enjoyed visiting Virginia Commonwealth University.
As always, do not hesitate to contact The Office of Undergraduate Admissions if you have any questions. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and we can be reached at 804-828-1222 or 800-841-3638. You can also shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Couldn’t make it to Open House but still want to visit? We have daily information sessions in the Welcome Center at 10:30 am Monday through Saturday except on holiday weekends. The information session is always followed by a one hour walking tour of the campus. Visit our website for more information on visiting VCU: http://www.ugrad.vcu.edu/visitvcu/index.html
by Ryan McEvoy, Student Admissions Ambassador
The Student Admissions Ambassadors (SAA) is a volunteer organization under the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. We strive to improve VCU through professionalism, dedicated service and a direct partnership with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
As a student ambassador, one of my favorite activities that the SAA participates in is Open House. Open House is an all-day event hosted by Undergraduate Admissions which welcomes prospective students and their families to get a closer look at everything VCU has to offer. For ambassadors, our day starts before any prospective students, families or guests arrive to campus. We meet first thing in the morning (before the sun even comes up!) and run through the day’s activities and our responsibilities.
I encourage you to attend Open House this Saturday, February 5! You’ll not only have a chance to meet and mingle with us before the day starts, but we’ll also be on hand to escort you to your academic overviews after the opening session. The SAA also give tours starting at 11:00 AM to the very last tour at 2:15 PM. As for me, I get to help coordinate it all. You’ll find me in the Student Commons sifting through colored tour cards. I think of it sort of like a puzzle, trying to make all the pieces fit together. Instead of pieces, though, I have tour groups and tour routes to coordinate. Luckily for us, our puzzle has over 1,000 pieces coming from across the country!
Come to Open House this Saturday – I have no doubt that you will enjoy the event as much as I do! For more information, see www.vcu.edu/openhouse.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
