There is no denying the excitement on VCU’s campus this week. For the first time, VCU entered the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Then, for the first time the Rams entered the Elite 8.
And now, for the first time in school history the VCU’s Men’s basketball team has entered the Final Four.
After a 71-61 win over Kansas on Sunday, VCU fans exploded into the streets to celebrate the huge victory. Over 1,000 VCU Ram fans rushed onto Broad Street from the Siegel Center to dance, cheer and chant for the Black and Gold. Campus has never seen anything like it.
Later that night, fans packed back into the Siegel Center to welcome home the players from San Antonio. When the team arrived at 1:30 a.m., 4,000 members of the RamNation were there to congratulate the Black and Gold.
Now, we are all riding waves of excitement into VCU’s next match-up against Butler. Tip-off is at 6:09 p.m. this Saturday and you can bet Ram fans all over will be crowded in front of TV’s to cheer on the team.
