Two Women and their Impact

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, The Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated at VCU proudly present Dos Mujeres y el Impacto, (Two Women and their Impact) with guest speaker Dr. Robert L. Sims, VCU Spanish Professor.  Dr. Sims will focus on Sandra Cisneros and her collection of short stories entitled “The House on Mango Street” with a smaller segment on Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and her famous poem “Hombres Necios” and some other aspects of her life and career.  The discussion will include novels (with plot summaries) by Latin American women writers relevant to women’s issues, information about the writers, and about more feminist writers whose works are important steps in the development of feminism.  You do not want to miss out on such an interesting event about these impacting women!
