Senior biology major senior Qasim Kazmi won second place in VCU’s “Make It Real” contest on Facebook. Qasim, who has already been accepted to the VCU School of Medicine, made this video for the contest and posted it on VCU’s Facebook page.
“VCU has helped me not only unlock and nurture my limitless imagination, but actually transform my visions into reality,” he wrote in his entry. “I never imagined I would have the extraordinary opportunities and experiences I have had at VCU and none of them would have been possible without the incredible support and unique resources VCU offers to its students.”
In an email to Dean Coleman, Qasim writes:
“I have always been a proud Ram and a very proud student of both the College of Humanities and Sciences and the Biology department. My time as a Biology student has been enlightening and exciting! The professors have always been simply magnificent and passionate. That passion is truly contagious and has impacted me on many levels. It’s my professors that have inspired a deep and sincere yearning to always probe deeper and explore as learning never stops. This is just the beginning and I’m very excited for the journey ahead!”
