As institutional members of ORAU (Oak Ridge Associated Universities), VCU undergraduates are eligible to apply for a variety of national fellowships, scholarships, research experiences, and internships.

From the ORAU website:

Together with our customers and partners, we’re answering critical national needs for better education, more responsive healthcare, a safer and cleaner environment, and advances in science and technology to strengthen America’s competitiveness. Applying these capabilities, Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) also manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Relevant, hands-on research opportunities connect classroom instruction to real world applications. Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) maximizes the potential of the talented faculty and students in our university consortium by investing in programs that inspire and support academic excellence, technological innovation, and creative problem solving.
