UROP Summer Fellowship for Undergraduate Research and Creativity:
We are pleased to once again offer this wonderful opportunity for faculty and students to partner together on a funded research project of their choice. ($3,000 for students/$500 for faculty mentors). The fellowship is designed to offer outstanding undergraduates the chance to make substantial and significant progress on a formal, structured research endeavor over the summer in collaboration with a faculty mentor.
Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, and we actively foster interdisciplinary collaboration through our program.

VCU Honors Summer Undergraduate Research Program:
The Honors Summer Undergraduate Research Program is an opportunity for you to work one-on-one with a faculty mentor and participate in professional development workshops throughout the summer, as well as engage in research projects for independent study.
The summer research program addresses a number of research concepts, including seminars and workshops that focus on:
- Research and writing skills
- Cultural and educational activities
- Strategies for increasing success when applying to graduate school
- Strategies for increasing success in participating in undergraduate research conferences and publishing research

VCU Summer Student Program in Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, and Public Health Epidemiology:
oin us at VCU for a new Summer Student Program in Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Public Health Epidemiology [PDF]. The School of Medicine will offer an integrated series of seminars and workshops that range from local to global issues in infectious diseases. Studies are related to infectious diseases from basic science (pathogenic microbiology) to applied science (epidemiology). Accepted students will be paired with a mentor to conduct research in the areas of : microbiology, clinical research, or epidemiology.

Physiology and Biophysics Summer Undergraduate Research Program:
The program will provide a $2,500 stipend for living expenses and, if needed, additional assistance for housing.
The duration of SURP in Physiology and Biophysics is 10 weeks, from early June to mid August. Students are expected to work full-time in the host lab. Support for living expenses will be provided by the program.
At the outset, each student with his/her mentor will produce: 1) a list of goals for the summer research training that are specific, realistic and scientifically/intellectually interesting, and 2) an outline of the experimental plan.
During the summer, in addition to work in the host lab, students will interact with faculty members and graduate students in the department to acquaint themselves with various research opportunities, facilities and the general environment of the department.
