For the second year in a row, graduates of the VCU Master’s of Public Health Program presented CSH Director Derek Chapman, PhD, and CSH Affiliate Faculty Roy Sabo, PhD, with awards for their excellence in teaching.
The VCU Public Health Student Association presents annual awards to faculty members who teach the best core course and best elective course, as determined by a poll of graduate students. The association also presents two awards to the best faculty mentors.
This year, Dr. Chapman’s Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology course was selected as the “Best Elective Course” in the Masters of Public Health Program. Dr. Sabo was presented with the award for “Best Core Course” for his Biostatistical Methods class. This is the second year in a row that these faculty have won these awards for teaching.
In addition to his course award, Dr. Chapman was voted as one of the two “Best Faculty Mentor” for his “outstanding effort in teaching and mentoring.”
Congratulations to these outstanding professors and to the Class of 2018! We look forward to seeing great work from all of you in the future.
